The X7’s 1.5K curved AMOLED is a genuine step above every LCD in this list and sharper than the flat 1080p AMOLEDs too, with high brightness that stays readable outdoors. The Dimensity 7300‑Ultra is a capable gaming chip, it has an IP-rated body for dust and water resistance, and the 5,500 mAh battery lasts a full day. The curved edges are divisive — some people find accidental touches annoying — and the cameras are good rather than great.

The trade-offs are the LCD screen (bright and smooth at 120Hz, but not AMOLED) and the modest Dimensity 6300, which is fine for everyday use and light gaming but not a performance chip. The Dimensity 7300‑Pro keeps things quick and Nothing’s software is light and ad-free. At its 8GB/128GB price it sits right at the top of the budget, so watch the exact configuration and price.

Two phones sit just over the line and are worth knowing about. The iQOO Z10 (around ₹21,999) adds a bigger battery and a faster gaming chip. Motorola’s Edge models in the ₹22,000–₹25,000 range bring curved pOLED screens, cleaner software and stronger water resistance. If your budget has any give, ₹22,000–₹25,000 is a noticeably better place to buy than ₹20,000.
What to look for under ₹20,000
- Chipset: a Dimensity 7300-series or Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 class chip is the target for smooth gaming. Below that (Dimensity 6300 etc.) is fine for everyday use but not heavy games. More in our processors guide.
- Display: at this price you should get an AMOLED panel — the POCO X7, M7 Pro and CMF have it. A flat panel is easier to live with than a curved one. 120Hz is standard.
