- Launch: 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
- Pre-load: from 12 November 2026, so the game is ready to play at launch.

- Amazon.in / Flipkart — physical disc or digital code; useful if you prefer a disc you can resell, or want to pay by UPI / card / EMI.

Do you need a PS5 Pro?
No. GTA 6 runs on the standard PS5 and the PS5 Slim. A PS5 Pro adds a sharper image and steadier frame rate, but it is not required to play. An SSD upgrade is worth having for a game this size — see our storage guides.
Digital or physical?
- Digital (PlayStation Store): pre-load from 12 November, playable the second it unlocks. Tied to your account. Goes on PS Store sales later.
- Physical disc: you can lend it, resell it, or buy it second-hand later. Needs a disc-drive PS5. Retailers sometimes undercut the Store price during festival sales.
- Either way the pre-order bonus (Vintage Vice City Pack + one month of GTA+) is the same, as long as you order before 20 November.
Should you pre-order or wait?
GTA is not a game that gets cheap quickly. GTA 5 held its price for years. If you know you want it, pre-ordering locks in the launch price and the bonus items. If you are unsure, there is no harm in waiting a week for the first player reviews — you will not miss much beyond the pre-order pack.
What about storage?
A game this size will take a large chunk of the PS5’s built-in SSD. If your console is close to full, a compatible M.2 SSD (PCIe Gen4, with a heatsink) is the cleanest fix and prices have fallen a lot. Clear space before launch day so you are not stuck waiting on a download while the servers are busy.

Is GTA 6 region-locked in India?
No. PS5 discs are region-free, and a digital purchase from the Indian PlayStation Store works normally. Physical copies from Amazon.in and Flipkart will play on any PS5.
Standard or Ultimate Edition — which should I buy?
Standard gives you the whole game. Ultimate is for players who want the extra in-game vehicles, outfits and story content from day one. Most people are fine with Standard.
Will there be a physical disc in India?
Yes, pre-orders for physical copies are live at major Indian retailers. If you like to lend or resell games, buy the disc.
